Impregnated bednets
Article Abstract:
Control of malaria has been affected by use of insecticide-impregnated nets. Used appropriately, they offer one the best control measures available. Other efforts have been less successful. Parasites have become more resistant to the small number of drugs available for treatment and prevention of malaria. Population and environmental changes have caused deterioration in control measures. Resources are barely available in the areas where they are most needed.

Getting the community involved
Article Abstract:
India became self-reliant in food through governmental efforts, field research and community participation. The country emerged as a major world industrial force. New towns, irrigation tracts and large farms provided new breeding opportunities for mosquito vectors. Over 50% of the country's malaria are caused by these man-made habitats. Community involvement is urgently requested.
