Article Abstract:
Infertility and early menopause in females in Ontario, Canada, after treatment for childhood cancer diagnosed, 1964-1988, and treated with radiation or alkylating agent chemotherapy vs treatment with nonsterilizing surgery are discussed. Those treated with radiation only had lower fertility vs those in the surgery group, but that was true only for those diagnosed after puberty and risks of menopause and infertility went up with higher doses of radiation and alkylating agent amount.

Lactose absorption in patients with ovarian cancer
Article Abstract:
Results of a study give some support to the hypothesis that lactose ingestion and galactose cytotoxicity have a role in pathogenesis of ovarian cancer. Lactose absorption in patients with ovarian cancer has been studied in Sassari, Sardinia, Italy, to see whether lactase persistence might be related to ovarian cancer risk. In this area of Italy the population has a high incidence of lactose malabsorption.
