Managerial rounds: getting in touch
Article Abstract:
A manager's practice of routinely circulating through departments, called managerial rounds, can be an effective leadership strategy. These rounds can be an opportunity to stay in touch with departmental routines and staff, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce the facility's visions and goals. Managers should plan the timing and location of the rounds with their staff and provide opportunities for discussing their goals and observations.

Article Abstract:
Effective health care depends on creating effective values in the health care environment. Patients improve their health best when they want to improve and take action, not whey they are controlled by others. Treating others in a health care organization with love and acquiring power by aligning action with purpose are two important steps for establishing quality health care.
