Managing children's pain

A study reveals that providing children with effective pain management is a complicated and challenging aspect of nursing as different children respond differently to painful experiences. Nurses need to prepare the child for certain painful procedures and give then age-appropriate explanations.

Improving the management of postoperative pain

An audit of postoperative pain and its management in a trust is reported. The results led to the development of a new system using standard prescriptions to empower nurses to manage patients' pain.
