Marshalling the arguments for community practice teachers
Article Abstract:
A range of arguments support the continuation of the role of community practice teacher (CPT), which is under consideration by the UKCC. CPTs are community practitioners who impart knowledge about the local community, the practice population and the practice of nursing on a one-to-one basis. The model permits the development of a plan which meets the needs of the individual student, and it promotes effective learning through reflection and discussion. CPTs can reduce the division between theory and practice, and their role could be developed to lecturer-practitioner level.

Management of incontinence in general practice
Article Abstract:
Women suffering from urinary incontinence can be helped within their general doctors clinics if enough expertise and interest is shown by those practitioners involved. One hundred and five women who consulted their local doctors complaining of urinary incontinence were monitored during their treatment. After 12 months 70% of the women in the study had improved or no longer had a problem with incontinence, of the remaining patients only 17 were sent for specialist care.
