Stress, burnout, anxiety and depression among dentists
Article Abstract:
Dentists are prone to professional burnout, anxiety disorders and clinical depression, owing to the nature of clinical practice and the personality traits common among those who decide to pursue careers in dentistry. It is suggested that dentists should learn coping strategies to minimize the effects of stress, and should assess their own attitudes and expectations to determine whether they are realistic, achievable or rational.
