Doctor-driven utilization controls: group cuts hospital stays 50% using protocols and home care
Article Abstract:
Affiliated Physicians Health Management, an independent physicians association, has developed methods which have cut the length of an average patient's hospital stays by up to 50%. A set of surgical and pharmaceutical protocols emphasize techniques and medications which can help a patient to recover from surgery more quickly. At the same time, an aggressive home care program helps to ensure that patients can receive necessary medical care while at home.

Taking responsiblity: owning outcome by sharing process
Article Abstract:
Physicians are burdened with more changes in the health care industry, from lower pay to more accountability.
