Article Abstract:
BSkyB has defended its bid for Channel 5 and has accused Michael Grade, chief executive of Channel 4, of being ill informed about the Indepedent Television Commission's C5 award process. Grade called for government intervention to prevent BSkyB taking a major stake in Channel 5, as he believes that Rupert Murdoch's News International, which owns 40% of BSkyB, would be in a dominant position.
