MBC hits US with Challenge Anneka
Article Abstract:
Mentorn Barraclough Carey (MBC) has partnered with Pearson Television International (PTI) to develop a US version of its light entertainment show entitled Challenge Anneka. The two firms have been working together on the project for already three months and PTI Vice President of Programming Juliet Blake has already started negotiations with a US broadcast network to have the show included on the latter's programming. The partnership also agreed to set up a co-production facility in the US and is looking for a US personality who will take the place of Anneka Rice as host of the show.

Hit sells Three Friends and Jerry to Fox Family for August launch
Article Abstract:
The Fox Family Channel, a new cable television channel in the US, has acquired the 39 half-hour cartoon series titled The Three Friends and Jerry from Hit Entertainment, a television production and distribution firm, for an undisclosed amount. The animated series, which will be renamed to The Three Friends and Jerry Show, will be aired every 5 pm daily, Mondays to Fridays. The Magnus Carlsson-animated series was a co-production of Wegelius Animation and TMO Film/Loonland Animation with the cooperation Germany and the UK.

Columbia TriStar Home Video and The Disney Channel have acquired from Link Television Entertainment the rights for the half-hour The First Snow of Winter animated special. Columbia TriStar Home Video won the rights to have the animated program in home-video format in South Africa, Australasia and North America. The Disney Channel, on the other hand, won the carriage rights to have The First Snow of Winter animated special aired in the US.
