Pact turns to BBC in wake of C5 deal
Article Abstract:
Independent television programme producers are set to have a high level of flexibility with regard to programme rights under the terms of an agreement reached between Channel 5 and producers' association Pact. Independent producers will be able either to sell a three-year terrestrial licence period, with the producer retaining rights but receiving a smaller licence fee, or to have a programme fully funded by Channel 5 and receive up to 50% of the back-end earnings. Pact now hopes to be able to complete negotiations with the BBC too.
