The inside edge
Article Abstract:
Chrysalis Radio CEO Richard Huntingford is hoping his Edge radio format targeting 15 to 30-year olds, will be awarded a new regional license by central Scotland, UK, by the end of July 1998. The Edge is Huntington's latest indie rock and dance radio format, and was created with comedian Billy Connolly and the Daily Record. Should the new format best other bidders, Huntington will be able to add a third radio brand to Chrysalis Radio's portfolio of the Galaxy and Heart banners. Huntington, whose growth strategy calls for launching brands further into popular and profitable markets, also has an outstanding bid for a license in the north-east of England, UK.
