APAR series production contract
Article Abstract:
The Royal Netherlands Navy has awarded Hollandse Signaalapparaten (Signaal) BV a contract for the series production of four active phased array radar systems (APARs) for the Netherlands LCF frigates. Product delivery will begin in the middle of 2001 and run through 2003. Manufacturing will run in tandem with that for three Signaal APARs ordered by Germany. APAR is the first X-band active phased array multifunction radar for naval applications. It enables automatic, simultaneous detection and tracking of targets and missile guidance.
