The Army's policy nettle: transformation, will it fix what ails the Army
Article Abstract:
The US Army needs to guestion its mission and relevancy in the new US defense planning. Mobility and exploiting a broader realm of new technologies will be highly important virtues. The Army's Future Combat System, to be based on an armored vehicle light enough to be easily air-transported, presents both an opportunity to reach that goal, but its network-centered concept must face the risk of its own dependence on that network.
