Pharmacists now can write their own ticket
Article Abstract:
BMWs and signing bonuses are some of the perks being offered to new pharmacists, who may be offered annual salaries of $75,000 by their employers. The strong demand for pharmacists comes at a time when the number of prescriptions written have risen from 1.9 billion in 1992 to 3.1 billion in 2000. Hospitals, retail pharmacies and mail-order houses are all competing for pharmacists but recent pharmacy graduates tend to favor the retail sector where the compensation is better.
