Article Abstract:
The previously existing advantage that southern hemisphere countries New Zealand, South Africa and Australia had over other countries in rugby is significantly decreasing. The article discusses the reasons why this gap is closing, such as stricter rules regarding behavior that will hurt the strong defense teams of New Zealand and Australia, predictions for the 1999 World Cup results are also discussed.
