Can the state create cooperation?: problems of reforming the labor supply in France
Article Abstract:
This article discusses vocational education and training in France, as a government reform project to improve the economy. The author asserts that successful implementation of these reforms relies on cooperation between the state and employment associations in overcoming uncertainty about their reciprocal relationship.

This article examines the role of labor unions in newly reformed welfare states. The author, focusing on labor's political influence on pension reform in the United States and France, argues labor unions in France have much more direct influence on pension reform than in the United States.
