Debate and argument: who participates in child sexual abuse research?
Article Abstract:
The 1993 Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry article by Lynch et al. entitled 'Who participates in Child Sexual Abuse Research?' illustrates a common problem in research. This is the risk of research results being inadvertently influenced by the researcher's particular curiosities or passions. This problem is manifested in the Lynch article's conclusion that research participation tends to be lowest among the most dysfunctional families. The article fails to take into account the role of social workers in the selection of who will or will not participate in research studies.

Infantile autism and associated autosomal chromosome abnormalities: A register-based study and a literature survey
Article Abstract:
The heterogenous disorder of infantile autism has unknown aetiology. Some cases of autism have been linked with autosomal or sex chromosome abnormalities or known monogenic illnesses. The cause of the co-occurrence between autism and chromosomal abnormalities is not known. A study aims to detect autosomal chromosome abnormalities linked with infantile autism, using the Danish Cytogenetic Central Register. Possible candidate regions on chromosome 7q21 and 10q21.2 were identified from the register-based study.
