Effects of leader role, team-set goal difficulty, efficacy, and tactics on team effectiveness
Article Abstract:
The performance of a team is significantly influenced by the type of leadership it assumes and the type of decision making it undertakes. A team tends to be more effective in undertaking tactics when guided by team coordinators rather than team commanders. These results are due to higher cognitive involvement and communication among team members whenever a team is guided by team coordinators. Tactics that are of high quality also positively affect the performance of a team in an indirect way. A team that allows greater participation during decision making also has greater possibility to achieve higher group performance.

Group vs. individual performance in a price-searching experiment
Article Abstract:
Previous research has indicated that the nature of the task and how it is performed exerts a significant impact on the performance of small groups relative to individuals. The sensitivity of group performance to task type and feedback underscores its usefulness in understanding the social processing of information. The performance of small groups relative to individuals in an iterated monopoly-pricing problem is studied.

Locus of knowledge as a determinant of the effects of participation on performance, affect, and perceptions
Article Abstract:
The influence of the locus of knowledge on the effectiveness of participation on performance and affective reactions is analyzed. Results show that participation is effective when subordinates have information that their supervisors do not have. Supervisors and subordinates also experienced increased positive affect and perceptions under the participation condition such as task satisfaction and enjoyment.
