Four encounters between descendants of survivors and descendants of perpetrators of the holocaust: building social bonds out of silence
Article Abstract:
This report is on the transgenerational aftereffects of the Jewish Holocaust and how it was processed between the descendants of the perpetrators and the survivors through open dialogue. The encounter group was composed of eight American Jews, and eight Germans. The study is the very first attempt to face the double wall of psychological symmetry on the part of the perpetrators and moral asymmetry on the part of the survivors as well as the issue of a cross cultural 'conspiracy of silence.' Though the process serves as an alternative and is complementary to other, ethical, political, and juridical processes, its healing touches the social and psychological wounds wrought by violent transgressions.

Stable negative social exchanges and health
Article Abstract:
The impacts of negative social exchanges with family, neighbors and friends on health are investigated. Findings show that higher levels of stable negative social exchanges are predictors of a greater number of health conditions, lower self-rating of health and more functional limitations. The significance of examining recurring and continual interpersonal problems and their effects on health is discussed.

The relationship between attachment and dissociation in adult survivors of incest
Article Abstract:
Adult men and women who were sexually abused in their youth have been observed to exhibit dissociative disorders. These disorders are better examined by studying the degree of relationship between parent and child. A study involving scores taken from a Dissociative Experiences Scale test revealed the significant relationship between fearful avoidant attachment and dissociation.
