Goal orientation in organizational research: a conceptual and empirical foundation
Article Abstract:
Learning goal orientation with its emphasis on harnessing effort and experience to enhance competence in a given activity can have valuable implications on organizational research when adopted. Employees with a goal orientation would react constructively to performance evaluations by viewing even negative feedback as an opportunity to develop task mastery. Such viewpoint encourages them to actively participate in training programs, especially when their performance is deemed as substandard, and to increase their personal and professional goals over time.

Toward an explanation of applicant reactions: an examination of organizational justice and attribution frameworks
Article Abstract:
Organizational justice and attribution theory frameworks were found to provide an understanding of the psychological processes that affect applicants' intentions and self-perceptions. Understanding applicant reactions can be extended further in new theoretical directions, offering possible avenues for future research. Perceptions of process fairness led to more favorable intentions and self-perceptions than perceptions of unfair procedures.

Cognitive misfit of problem-solving style at work: a facet of person-organization fit
Article Abstract:
The degree of congruence between the problem solving style of a worker and his immediate work environment determines turnover rates, rather than influencing job performance, in a study of person-organization fit. This conclusion is most evident in work environments that require immediate adaptation to market demands than in work environments that stress innovations in the products/services.
