Risk compensation: implications for safety interventions
Article Abstract:
Driving behavior is believed to turn riskier when drivers perceive that the environment has become safer. However, previous studies testing the validity of risk compensation are hard to interpret since problems on the levels of analysis issues or unmeasured variables inevitably emerge. Findings reveal that individuals do not compensate for changes in the environment enough to return to their original levels of risk. This renders weak support to the well-accepted assumption about risk compensation mechanism.

Image theory: testing the role of image compatibility in progress decisions
Article Abstract:
The influence of image compatibility in decision-making for projects is analyzed. Results show that individuals decide to continue a project whenever the present and future images of the project are seen as compatible. Image compatibility was also found to cause between 19% to 54% of the difference between decision variables. These results are true when performance feedbacks were definitive and presented differently.

Decision -making and behavior fluidity: How focus on completion and emphasis on safety changes over the course of projects
Article Abstract:
Two longitudinal studies have been done to know the psychological affects of project completion in a road construction industry. When a project is in it's last stages of completion, attention is shifted towards completing the project than on managing funds. And the importance of following safety standards by workers follows curvilinear pattern from the start to the end stages of the project completion.
