Using Message framing to motivate HIV testing among low-income ethnic minority women
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of 4 videotaped educational program designed to motivate HIV testing among low-income, ethnic minority women is compared. It was found that women who viewed HIV testing as having a certain outcome, gain-framed messages better encouraged self-reported HIV testing than loss-framed messages, among those who viewed HIV testing as having an uncertain outcome.

Matching health messages to monitor-blunter coping styles to motivate screening mammography
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted for determining whether mammography utilization can be increased effectively in women by providing messages that match women's monitor-blunter coping styles. The results indicated that a woman's monitor-blunter coping style was successful in encouraging mammography after 6 months as compared to mismatched messages and displayed more success with blunters as compared to monitors.
