Streets ahead
Article Abstract:
Property rental rates in Oxford Street, London, United Kingdom, have reached record levels, with one retail development securing 400 pounds sterling per square foot. Disney has rented property costing 525 pounds per square foot at zone A, Oxford Street, while another property has been leased for 570 pounds per square foot. These rates are thought to be unrealistic and unsustainable. Many of the shops on Oxford Street are due to have their rents reviewed and they face large increases in their rents. Small chains may not be able to absorb these increases.
