A few tips if we take Cook's tour
Article Abstract:
UK shadow Foreign Secretary Robin Cook always makes considerable efforts to research any subject about which he is required to express an opinion. This applies both to politics and to horse racing, about which he is extremely knowledgeable. For this reason, he rarely makes mistakes in public. He has reservations about closer ties with the European Union and about the European single currency, but is pragmatic about gaining benefits from Europe. He has a majority of 8,448 in his own constituency, but still works very hard there.

It's Cook's tour, says Robin
Article Abstract:
New UK Foreign Secretary Robin Cook has already shown great determination to improve the UK's relations with its European Union partners. He has already visited Paris, France, and Bonn, Germany, and has stated that the UK will sign up to the Social Chapter at the Intergovernmental conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in Jun 1997. The recent election victory of the Labour party seems to have had a considerable impact on politics in both France and Germany, and Cook was warmly welcomed in both countries.

A fighter who doesn't back losers
Article Abstract:
Labour party front bench spokesman Robin Cook has performed extremely well in parliament over recent years. Some observers believe that he is such a good oppositionist that he would find it hard to fulfill a government role in which he was not constantly in an attacking role. He has an extremely professional approach to politics, and this is regarded as fitting him very well for the role of a government minister.
