A proud, struggling friend needs our aid
Article Abstract:
Russia has political freedom for the first time, but it has created an economic depression with inflation of 25% a month and living standards halved in 1992. Mr Yeltsin is popular and politically skilled. All the political leaders believe in the free economy. Privatisation is growing in Russia generally. Over 30% of Russian workers work in free enterprise. The International Monetary Fund should not treat Russia as a Third World country. American aid is an investment in peace and prosperity.

Proud and positive
Article Abstract:
South African rap group Prophets of Da City is one of the most recognised bands in South Africa. However, its members are seen as radical and immature, and believe that they do not receive the respect or financial support which should go with their status. They have come from the harsh background of South African township life, and recognise that young people need positive role models.
