A vision of old England
Article Abstract:
Walt Disney films tend to present a very distorted image of England. They introduce architecture to London which does not exist there, and show a very idealised image of the countryside. Furthermore, they exploit the English accent, using it to highlight the different between bad and good characters, with the good characters generally having American accents. In a way, a Walt Disney portrayal of England is similar to the way in which Indian, Arab or Chinese societies are portrayed in 19th century orientalist paintings and fiction. In both cases, the society in question is shown in a way which seems to be flattering but actually robs it of humanity and authenticity.

Why they buy the Max factor
Article Abstract:
Taking a proactive approach can be a useful way of preventing negative media coverage of a celebrity, according to Max Clifford, who acts as public relations adviser to a number of celebrities. He tends to have a number of interesting news stories available, and will offer one of these to a newspaper in return for not running a negative story. He exerts considerable influence over tabloid newspaper coverage of celebrities, and is not unwilling to attract media attention in his own right, unlike most other public relations advisers.
