After Empire's roar fell silent
Article Abstract:
The British Empire has become an increasingly sensitive subject since it came to an end in the mid-1960s. Imperialists have pointed to a decline in the UK's status since the collapse of the Empire, while others have spoken of the Empire as a shameful period in the UK's history. However, many scholars now believe that it is time to reassess the Empire and its significance. Among young people, there is a more relaxed approach to the subject, and there is a growing feeling that it is necessary to understand the Empire in order to understand the UK.

Do we need Comic Relief?
Article Abstract:
The Comic Relief charity venture, in which leading personalities become involved in stunts in order to raise large sums of money, has now been running every year for 10 years. It has almost become a national institution, and almost nobody dares to criticise it. However, it is now time to acknowledge that it is not particularly funny and is not an efficient way of fund raising.
