Anthony Clark
Article Abstract:
Anthony Clark was an archaeologist who pioneered geophysical prospecting techniques which have become key aspects of field archaeology. He learnt to interpret aerial photographs with the Royal Air Force and was awarded a PhD for his work of resistivity response and the impact of seasonal and climatics factors. He was an archaeological geophysics specialist with the Ancient Monuments Laboratory, and retired when it was transferred to English Heritage, becoming an independent consultant.

Professor G.D.B. Jones
Article Abstract:
Archaeologist Geraint Jones studied Greats at Jesus College, Oxford, England, in the late 1950s. He gained a strong interest in Roman archaeology, and fieldwork on Roman Britain was to be a key feature of his entire career. He became a talented aerial photographer, and produced pioneering surveys in Wales, Scotland and Cumbria. He undertook DPhil research in Italy in 1959 to 1963, and in the late 1960s began the first of his major phases of Libyan fieldwork.
