Professor H.W.M. Hodges
Article Abstract:
Archaeological scientist and conservator Henry Hodges was an extremely talented teacher. He played a key role in advancing the study of ancient artefacts and in the development of archaeological conservation. His career began with a Postgraduate Diploma at the Institute of Archaeology at London University, and he later lectured in archaeological technology at the same institution. The course he developed combined the study of archaeology, chemistry and ancient materials and technology.

Peter J. Reynolds
Article Abstract:
Archaeologist Peter J. Reynolds was born in Shifnal, England, in 1939. He studied Classics at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, and gained a teaching diploma at Reading University, England. He later created the first open-air Iron Age laboratory.

Professor Rhys Jones

Archaeologist Rhys Jones was born in Bangor, Wales, in 1941. He studied at Cambridge University, England, and then gained a PhD at Sydney University, Australia. His first fieldwork was in Tasmania.
