There's still a chance to stop the rot
Article Abstract:
It seems likely that interest rates will fall by the end of 1998 in both the US and the UK, and possibly the rest of Europe. However, it is possible to argue that there is a need for more urgent action. Growth in corporate profits has slowed down considerably in the US, and the situation is even worse in the UK. Further problems are being created by the economic crisis in Russia. It now seems unwise to take the risk of not taking action.
