Black apocalypse
Article Abstract:
A number of leading hip hop artists, including Method Man, RZA and Busta Rhymes, are followers of the secularized Islamic sect the Five Per Cent Nation. This sect has complicated ideas, including the fact that only 5% of people are the chosen ones. These ideas have been very much simplified to suit the purposes of hip hop superstars. The Five Per Cent Nation presents its teachings as a series of degrees of knowledge. All members must learn 120 degrees, and there are further degrees that are not written down. These are passed on in the oral tradition, which makes them attractive to hip hop artists.

Mr Muggs will see you after the bong
Article Abstract:
Cypress Hill is one of a considerable number of US rap groups to have changed its line-up for a European tour. The group is performing in Europe without Cuban-born Sen Dog. Its tour manager states that this is because of visa problems, but there are rumours that Sen Dog is actually under house arrest. He has been replaced with B-Smooth, who welcomes the opportunity to work with Cypress Hill, a group he has admired for some time. He is proving very effective as a replacement for Sen Dog.
