Britain's 50-year delay in tackling decay
Article Abstract:
The UK government is encouraging water companies to fluoridate drinking water as a cheap and effective way of reducing tooth decay. However, little progress has been made, and environmentalists are still opposed to the concept because they believe that all drinking water should be free of chemicals. Fluoride has been shown to be important for health, and it certainly promotes stronger teeth and bones. However, some research has found that it can increase cases of bone and liver cancer and damage the immune system.

Article Abstract:
Organophosphates occur naturally, and are found in the human body. However these natural organophosphates differ from insecticide organophosphates, which have attracted considerable controversy, in that they usually have one or two organic groups, compared with three for insecticide organophosphates. Organophosphates appear to be much safer than nerve gases, but this is not necessarily the case, as some people are particularly sensitive to them.
