Charles Maxwell
Article Abstract:
Radio producer Charles Maxwell studied law at Edinburgh University, Scotland, and qualified as a solicitor. However, he joined Radio Luxembourg as a staff announcer and introducer of records. He subsequently moved to rival radio station Normandy, where he established a close friendship with leading announcer Roy Plomley. He became Chief Producer of Radio Four Light Entertainment in 1966, a position he held until 1970.

Mary Hope Allen
Article Abstract:
Radio producer and writer Mary Hope Allen was born in Ashtead, England, in 1898. She studied at the Slade School of Art, and then worked for the literary paper Weekly Westminster Gazette. She joined the BBC in 1927.

The British radio broadcaster and producer John Walters died on Jul 30 2001 aged 62. He enjoyed a long partnership with the DJ John Peel on BBC Radio One, working as his producer.
