Claude Dusaidi

Political activist Claude Dusaidi specialized in French and English literature at Makerere University in Uganda. He worked as a high-school teacher, and then gained a scholarship to study for a masters degree in Canada. He left York University in Toronto, Canada, to organize the Canadian branch of the Rwanda Patriotic Front. He became a focal point for other Rwandan exiles in Canada, and gained great respect among United Nations staff for his commitment to the Rwandan cause.

Gumpei Yokoi
Article Abstract:
Electrical engineer Gumpei Yokoi studied electrical engineering at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, graduating in 1965. He joined Nintendo, where he spent his spare time making toys. His talent was spotted, and he was responsible for Nintendo's commercial success with toys. His 'Game and watch' toy was particularly successful, with sales of 50 million. He used the profits from this invention to develop 'Famikon,' which was also extremely successful.

Claude Shannon
Article Abstract:
Electrical engineer and mathematician Claude Shannon was born in Gaylord, MI, in 1916. He studied electrical engineering and mathematics at the University of Michigan, and in 1936 became a research assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
