Douglas Seale

Actor and theatre director Douglas Seale trained at Rada. He made his first professional appearance in 'The Drums Begin' at the Embassy Theatre in Swiss Cottage, London, England, in 1934. His first West End role came immediately afterwards. He worked in repertory throughout the 1930s. He served in the Army during the second world war, but resumed his acting career immediately after demobilization. He directed 'The Comedy of Errors' in 1948 at the Birmingham Rep, and was appointed Director of Productions there at the end of 1949.
