Rich man, poor man, superstar
Article Abstract:
Economic inequality is expanding more rapidly in the UK than in any other industrialised country. This is likely to be the result of a growing divergence in people's ability to create economic value. New technology is creating greater inequality in how productive people are in their work, while winner-take-all markets lead to effort being misallocated. It is possible that in the long term the technological revolution will bring economic benefits for all sections of the population.

Working towards secure jobs
Article Abstract:
Job insecurity is not a serious problem for the workforce as a whole in the UK. However, it certainly has a significant impact on specific groups. Detailed research indicates that there are no simple ways of dealing with poverty and insecurity, but that small, targeted solutions can be effective. The people who tend to be most at risk of poverty and marginalization are lone parents, single pensioners, men who work but are in insecure jobs and the long-term unemployed.
