Elspeth March

Actress Elspeth March studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She made her first professional appearance in 1932 in 'Jonah and the Whale' at the Westminster Theatre in London, England, and went on to play many leading roles with the Birmingham Rep between 1934 and 1937. She left acting for almost five years during the second world war to serve as a driver for the American Red Cross. Her stage work had mixed success after the second world war, but she enjoyed a long and successful television and film career.

Joan White
Article Abstract:
Actress Joan White studied at Rada after developing an interest in the theatre at an early age. She appeared at the Festival Theatre, Cambridge, England, in 1929, and was involved in the Westminster Theatre season in 1933. She retired from the stage during the second world war, but had an excellent run of parts at the Birmingham Rep in 1949. She also gained respect for her work at the Bristol Old Vic in the 1950 to 1951 season.
