Fr Michel Quoist
Article Abstract:
Priest Michel Quoist began working at the age of 14, but decided to train for the priesthood after becoming involved in the Jeunesse Ouvriere Chretienne. He entered the seminary at St Jean in 1938, and in 1942 went to the major seminary of Rouen, France. He was a parish priest in Le Havre, France, from 1949 to 1953, and was secretary general of the French bishops' committee for Latin America for seven years in the 1960s. He wrote a number of books, but always denied that he was a writer.

Patriarch Diodoros I

Priest Damianos Karivalis was born in Chios, Greece, in 1923. He joined the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1938, and became a monk in 1944. He was ordained priest in 1947.

Patriarch Maximos V

Patriarch Maximos V was born Georges Hakim in Tanta, Egypt, in 1908. He studied at the Saint Hana seminary in Jerusalem, Israel, and was ordained priest in 1930.
