Francine Everett
Article Abstract:
Singer, dancer and actress Franceine Everette, known as Francine Everett, was performing with the Four Black Cats, a night-club act, by 1933. A short time later, she began her acting career with the Federal Theater in Harlem. She moved to Hollywood in 1936, but returned to Harlem in 1939. She made her film debut in 1939 in 'Keep Punching,' and subsequently appeared in several 'race' films. Possibly her most famous role was in the 1946 film 'Dirty Gertie from Harlem, USA.'

Rufus Thomas
Article Abstract:
Singer Rufus Thomas was born in Cayce, MS, in 1917. He began working as a tap-dancer in a touring carnival revue in 1936 and became a presenter on the WDIA radio station. He recorded 'Cause I Love You' with his 18-year-old daughter in 1960.

Singer and dancer Maude Russell was born in Texas in 1897. She appeared as featured performer in many reviews, including 'Dixie to Broadway' in 1924.
