Hair of the dog
Article Abstract:
Actors who take on the role of a cartoon character can encounter problems which do not exist with other acting roles. There is always the risk of appearing two-dimensional, merely imitating the movements of the cartoon. In most cases, new versions of well-known cartoons using real actors tend to be disappointing, with these versions generally adding very little to the animated original. It is important to realise that a film inspired by a cartoon is still a film in its own right.

Article Abstract:
The 'film noir' genre has become extremely influential over recent years, with traces of it being found in other areas, such as horror and science-fiction. There are clear 'film noir' elements in 'Kiss of Death' and 'The Usual Suspects,' two of the most highly regarded films of 1995, and this trend is set to continue. The genre remains popular because its basic conventions have been reinterpreted to make them relevant to modern society.
