Health survey shows demand for higher taxes
Article Abstract:
The British Medical Association, the British Medical Journal, the King's Fund College and the Patients' Association commissioned a survey of the general public, doctors and health service managers, which found that most people prefer to pay higher taxes rather than have rationing of health care. The public would rather doctors set rationing than politicians. Medical intervention for improving quality of life was preferred to life saving operations such as heart transplants. Childhood immunisation was placed top of a list of services by all sectors.

In a room apparently furnished from car-boot sales, some of rock's great names watch video animations of their new shows
Article Abstract:
Architect Mark Fisher gained his inspiration from a number of different sources when designing the set for Tribute's Sound and Vision 1996-56 show, which traces the history of rock music. The gold curtains, for example, were copied from styles used by Elvis Presley, and the set also features a red-and-white diagonal stripe which emulates the pop-art style of Roy Lichtenstein. He has also worked on a range of other music-related projects. These include the set for Bridges of Babylon, the Rolling Stones' new roadshow.
