Island of the gods
Article Abstract:
Hindu gods play a key role in daily life in Bali. The island has more shrines than homes, and each village has at least three temples. The fall in the value of the Indonesian rupiah has made Bali an extremely inexpensive place to visit. Tourist numbers have fallen as a result of unrest in Jakarta, Indonesia, and this has made those associated with the tourist trade in Bali willing to negotiate. It is worth taking the trouble to visit destinations away from the usual tourist haunts.

Sea spray and superstition in old East Neuk
Article Abstract:
There are a number of interesting towns and villages along the coast of Fife, Scotland. The sea makes its presence very clearly felt in the town of East Neuk, where there are still many fishermen, even though they no longer sail from the town itself. Each of the villages along the coast has its own personality. Crail has attractive merchant houses and quiet streets, while Anstruther has a strong sense of purpose. Pittenweem has an active fishing fleet and steep, narrow streets.
