I drink, therefore I write
Article Abstract:
The atmosphere in pubs is very attractive, according to poet Neil Rollinson, who has recently won an Arts Council bursary and first prize in the National Poetry Competition. He grew up in a family where no attention was given at all to the arts or literature, but his life was changed by studying A-level art. His art teacher taught him new ways of looking at the world, and this ability was carried over into his poetry. He regards writing poetry as a job, and does not see himself as being separate from ordinary life.

A beachcomber's life, garnering treasures from the tide
Article Abstract:
Margaret Mellis is a painter aged 83-years-old who was born in China and studied in Edinburgh, Scotland and Paris, France. She had planned to study music but her parents preferred her to study art because she would be closer to home, and she herself did not mind. Color is important to her, and she admires Matisse. She has lived in London and Cornwall, England, before moving to Southwold where she has been inspired by driftwood found on the beach.
