Jose Pierre
Article Abstract:
Writer Jose Pierre became an authority on Surrealism, even though he did not meet Andre Breton, the unofficial leader of the Surrealist movement, until 1952, when the movement was expiring. Pierre wrote a number of very prominent works about Surrealism, including 'Andrew Breton et la peinture' and the two extremely large volumes he compiled of 'Tracts surrealistes et declarations collectives, 1922-1969.' One of his most subversive works was the erotic novel 'La Fontaine close, les livres secrets d'une secte politique inconnue.'

Julien Green
Article Abstract:
Julien Green was an author who wrote in French, though he is often seen as an American writer. He saw himself as a writer first and a Catholic second, and did not like to be described as a Catholic writer, but his work was trasnformed by his sincere Catholic beliefs. His early novels were melancholic with sexual undertones. He is best known for his journals, some of which have been published, dealing with a 30-year period. He sometimes criticised the Church for not promoting peace and instead spreading panic.
