Pepys into the past
Article Abstract:
It is still possible to see many of the places in London, England, with which diarist Samuel Pepys was familiar when he was writing between 1660 and 1669. He witnessed the coronation of Charles II at Westminster Abbey on Apr 23, 1661, and he married in 1665 at the church of St Margaret's, which still stands beside Westminster Abbey. He enjoyed visiting taverns in Chancery Lane, and attended St Olave's church in Hart Street. It is also possible to see 12 and 14 Buckingham Street, where Pepys lived at various times.

Messing about with books
Article Abstract:
Visitors to Rochester, England, will find much to interest them. The town, which still has much of its traditional atmosphere, has many second-hand bookshops and museums. It is particularly worth visiting the 17th century Guildhall, to which the town's free museum is attached, and Baggin's Book Bazaar, which claims to be the largest second-hand bookshop in the UK. The town has particular associations with Charles Dickens, who lived nearby at Gads Hill Place.

Oh! The fun of a warm Bath
Article Abstract:
Visitors to the city of Bath, England, should take the time to visit the Roman baths. Almost all the Roman ruins are underground, but they are extremely well displayed. Visitors can walk around the Great Bath, which still contains steaming water, and see many of the offerings made by the Romans. The most impressive building in the city is the Abbey church of St Peter and St Paul, connected to a monastery which had been founded by 758.
