Professor Burton Dreben
Article Abstract:
Philosopher and mathematical logician Burton Dreben graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in 1949, remaining there as a graduate student. He studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, England, in 1950 to 1951 as a Fulbright Fellow, and was influenced by J.L. Austin. He was elected to a Junior Fellowship of the Harvard Society of Fellows in 1952, and in the same year published his first paper. He became an Instructor at the University of Chicago in 1955, but in 1956 returned to Harvard as Assistant Professor. He was made Edgar Pierce Professor of Philosophy in 1981.

Ben Bowden
Article Abstract:
Industrial designer Benjamin Bowden trained as a violinist at the Guildhall, but then graduated in engineering from the Regent Street Polytechnic and gained employment as a designer in car bodybuilding. He became chief body engineer at the Rootes Group's Humber factory in Coventry, England, by the end of the 1930s. He then set up his own industrial design concern at Leamington Spa, England. He became a member of the society of Industrial Artists in 1948.
