Speculating on the Internet is risky - that's the point
Article Abstract:
It seems quite likely that the Internet will have a dramatic impact on the UK economy. For this reason, it is worth taking the risk of investing in Internet stocks. This is what the 50,000 private investors who applied to purchase shares in Freeserve did. Those who condemn the flotation of Freeserve as speculation and hype fail to recognize that any Internet company that is not making a loss at an early stage will not progress very far. New companies must expand rapidly to succeed, even though success may be slow.

The true cost of a minimum wage
Article Abstract:
Supporters of a national minimum wage believe that it would benefit the most exploited workers. However, there are also ways in which it could threaten the jobs of those workers who really need employment most. By charging a minimum wage, they may simply price themselves out of a job. A national minimum wage may seem attractive in theory, but those who are advocating it have given little thought to who will really pay.
