Spotting a climate change
Article Abstract:
Theories linking the number of sunspots with changes in the Earth's climate have until recently been largely dismissed. However, scientists are now beginning to reassess their views. Meteorologist Piers Corbyn has seen his method of long-term weather prediction based on sunspot theories consistently outperform traditional forecasting methods, while three Danish scientists have produced convincing links between the Earth's temperature and the varying length of sunspot cycles.

My word, what does it all mean?
Article Abstract:
The new volume in the Oxford English Dictionary Additions Series contains a considerable number of words which relate to new cultural or technological trends. There are also many words which have clearly existed for a very long time but which have only now been regarded as being of interest to a wider audience. Some words indicate growing openness about bodily functions and personal habits, while others are words for which new definitions have emerged.
