The choreographer Lea Anderson is on the road with her unpronouncable dance company. She won't be performing in a single venue. Or worrying about a single review
Article Abstract:
All-female dance company the Cholmondeleys, led by choreographer Lea Anderson, performs in an extremely unconventional way. Its latest project is a dance roadshow called CAR, made up of three self-contained 15-minute episodes. The performances actually take place outside on the road, and the company will stop a specific locations in France, the UK and the Netherlands as it tours until the end of Aug 1995. The project reflects Anderson's desire to escape the restrictions of conventional theatre-based performances.

The 360-degree dancer
Article Abstract:
Dance is a constant process of experimentation and development, according to choreographer Trisha Brown. Her recent projects have included 'MO,' her first work set to classical music. Her company has for many years been well supported in France, but she has found it hard to work in the US, where she has found a lack of interest in the arts. She has lobbied for the arts, but has encountered cynical reactions from politicians.

Roll the dice and take your chances
Article Abstract:
American choreographer Merce Cunningham is a great believer in allowing chance to determine decisions and directions. This approach is more usually associated with young people, but he still follows it closely, even at the age of 76. He is still involved in many different projects, and has made at least 15 works in the last six years. His belief in chance is now becoming intermingled with the use of computer technology.
