Two Krakow hours and counting
Article Abstract:
There are increasing signs of western consumerism in the city of Krakow, Poland. However, the city is also suffering from considerable neglect, and has a rather sad atmosphere. There are still some traces of its history, including the 14th century Mariacki Church, one of the most beautiful in Poland, and remnants of the old city wall. It is worth exploring the city's backstreets, where there are many small churches and convents.

For 50 years, this Majorcan village was home to artists and poets, among them Robert Graves. Now they have all moved away. Why?
Article Abstract:
The village of Deya, situated on the north coast of Majorca, first became popular with European artists, writers, poets and musicians in the 1930s. It was made famous by author Robert Graves, but also attracted many other well-known figures. However, almost all of them have now left, as it has become a tourist destination and has lost the tranquility which the first outsiders to settle there valued so much.

Poetic licence: Edinburgh beyond the Festival
Article Abstract:
The city of Edinburgh, Scotland, has many attractions all year round, not just when the annual Edinburgh Festival is taking place. Indeed, it is possible to spend a long time there without ever having to pay to enter a restaurant, theatre or concert hall. It has attractive gardens, many interesting cafes and friendly local people, and it is an ideal place just to wander around if the weather is nice.
